Elderberry Syrup
Known for its immune-supporting properties.
Recipe
Simmer 1/2 cup dried elderberries with 2 cups water, a cinnamon stick, and a few cloves for 45 minutes.
Strain, let cool slightly, and stir in 1 cup of raw honey.
Thyme & Honey Oxymel
An oxymel is a traditional blend of vinegar and honey, excellent for soothing a stubborn cough.
Recipe
Fill a jar 1/3 full with dried thyme. Add equal parts apple cider vinegar and raw honey until the jar is full. Let it sit for 2 weeks, strain, and use by the spoonful.
Peppermint & Rosemary Herbal Steam
Steams are the fastest way to deliver herbal benefits directly to the lungs and sinuses.
Recipe
Place a handful of fresh or dried rosemary and peppermint leaves in a large heatproof bowl. Pour just-boiled water over them. Drape a towel over your head and the bowl, and breathe in the steam for 5–10 minutes
"Breathe Easy" Lung Oxymel
A stronger version of the classic oxymel specifically for lung support.
Recipe
Fill a jar 1/4 full with a mix of dried mullein, marshmallow root, and elecampane. Fill the jar halfway with apple cider vinegar, then top it off with raw honey. Shake daily for 2–4 weeks, then strain.
Traditional Thyme Gargle
Excellent for the very first sign of a sore throat.
Recipe
Steep 3 tablespoons of thyme in 4 cups of boiling water for 10 minutes. Strain and stir in 1 teaspoon of salt. Use it as a warm gargle 3 times a day.

Ginger & Fennel Tincture (Glycerin-based)
A "glycerite" is a sweet, alcohol-free way to extract herbal properties.
Recipe
Mix 1 part dried ginger and 1 part fennel seeds. Place in a jar and cover with a mixture of 75% vegetable glycerin and 25% distilled water. Shake daily for 4 weeks, then strain.
Peppermint & Lemon Balm Infusion
A classic digestive tea.
Recipe
Steep 1 tablespoon of dried peppermint and 1 teaspoon of dried lemon balm in hot water for 10 minutes. Cover the cup while steeping to keep the essential oils from escaping.

Calendula Infused Oil
The starting point for many salves.
Recipe
Fill a clean jar halfway with dried calendula petals. Cover completely with olive or jojoba oil. Let it sit in a sunny window for 3–4 weeks, then strain.
Soothing Lavender Salve
Recipe
Melt 1 ounce of beeswax pellets into 1 cup of your infused calendula oil using a double boiler. Add 10 drops of lavender essential oil, pour into tins, and let cool until solid.

Chamomile & Oatstraw "Night-Night" Tea
Recipe
Combine equal parts dried chamomile flowers and dried oatstraw. Use 1 tablespoon per cup of water. Steep for at least 15 minutes to extract the minerals from the oatstraw.

Recipe
Steep 1 teaspoon of dried Tulsi leaves in 8 ounces of hot water. This is excellent both hot and iced.
